Content Marketing: Blancpain GT World Challenge

Antonio Sureshot April 10, 2019

Earlier this year, I signed a contract to join the Blancpain GT World Challenge Series as a Producer on their Media and Marketing team.

This series races all over North America and features some pretty amazing cars in different race classes - GT3, GT4, TCR, and Touring Cars.

In my role as Producer for the series, I was tasked with shooting high quality still photos and video clips for editorial usage and social media marketing.

Click the photo above for a link to an editorial that I published on the high traffic global car culture website, Speedhunters.

I was also asked to shoot video interviews at multiple events to fulfill sponsorship packages that the series sold to the drivers in the different classes and the overall sponsors for the series.

I did NOT edit the videos. I did not color grade the final videos, and I did not shoot the on-track action footage of the cars. The series was already working with others for video editing, so I was only asked to provide raw video interview footage, then submit to their team for editing.

If you’ve clicked around my website enough to familiarize yourself with the imagery I produce, I think it’s pretty easy to tell which scenes I shot and which ones were shot by someone else. You can easily tell by the sharpness of the image. Same with the color grading.

Here are some links to the completed videos:

This is a promotional video for series sponsor Purple Monkey Garage, a consulting company. I shot the interview footage with Josh Tolley, CEO of Purple Monkey Garage and Kavana Rum, as well as the supporting B-Roll lifestyle footage around the paddock and pit areas.

Make sure to click the Settings “Gear Icon” to watch it in 1080p HD.

This is a promo video I shot for series sponsor AMAZON WEB SERVICES. I shot the interview and supporting B-Roll footage with CJ Moses, the Chief Information Officer for AWS. If you have an eye for sharpness and bokeh in an image, then it’s easy to tell which shots were mine.

Make sure to click the Settings “Gear Icon” to watch it in 1080p HD.

In this promo video for TC America series driver Taylor Hagler, I shot the interview footage and the B-Roll around the paddock area. Make sure to click the Settings “Gear Icon” to watch it in 1080p HD.

This is a promo video I shot for series sponsor CROWDSTRIKE and their CEO, George Kurtz. I shot the interview and supporting B-Roll footage. If you have an eye for sharpness and bokeh in an image, then it’s easy to tell which shots were mine.

Make sure to click the Settings “Gear Icon” to watch it in 1080p HD.

This is a short promo video I shot for series sponsor Opticoat. I shot the interview with Opticoat VP Ivan Lacroix at the Circuit of Americas in Austin TX. Make sure to click the Settings “Gear Icon” to watch it in 1080p HD.

When SRO announced that it would be bringing the series to the United States in 2019 as the Blancpain GT World Challenge America with a season opener event at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), I immediately booked a flight to Austin, Texas.

As an automotive media influencer, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to find out what it would be like to drive the highly anticipated FR-S on a winding road, open highway, autocross course, wet skidpad, and perhaps the most enjoyable – a high speed handling test at one of Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch‘s racetracks.

Just thirty minutes south of Reno Nevada and 40 minutes east of Lake Tahoe lies the most dangerous stretch of highway in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and quite possibly, the entire west coast – Nevada State Route 341.

As the twisty road slices through the mountains towards the oldest city in the state of Nevada, a gold and silver mining town called Virginia City, it allures drivers with breathtaking views of the snow capped mountains in the Sierras – but this is all part of Highway 341’s deadly charm.

Drivers who are tempted into gazing upon the majestic beauty of the Sierras while behind the wheel are often fooled into making fatal mistakes at high speed.

Even if you're too young to recognize the name 'George Barris,' you've undoubtedly seen the cars he has created. As the automotive legend behind Barris Kustom Industries in North Hollywood, George Barris has created some of the most iconic cars in movie and television history.

I miss having a station wagon to haul all my camera gear to photo shoots. Especially with a rooftop box! Should I go back to a wagon or just get an SUV/CUV? 🤔

I just love the sound of a Ferrari 488 GT3 at high speed. This one was driven by @weathertech_racing drivers @toni.vilander and @coopermacneil to achieve a podium finish at this weekend’s @imsa_racing event at @weathertechraceway Laguna Seca! I
